Engineer Designer

Position Overview:

As a key member of our Infrastructure Design Team in Las Vegas, Nevada, you will work on a multitude of unique civil engineering related projects across a wide geographic area and diverse clientele base. This role will focus on site/roadway design (corridor, terrains, and surfaces), utility coordination and design, drainage modeling, and plan sheet development, using Civil3D as the design tool for our land development projects in the Las Vegas area.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with team members (technical and non-technical) to design and process improvement plans prepared in AutoCAD-Civil 3D
  • Preparation of Civil Improvement Plans (Grading Plan, Utility Plan, Traffic Plan, Plan and Profiles, Details and Cross-Sections) Tentative Map, Site Plans, and Quantity takeoffs
  • Address agency comments on the Civil Improvement Plans
  • Research Civil Engineering data, As-Builts and other pertinent information to aid in the design of the site
  • Transfer Client and Project information to plans, maps, and exhibits as necessary.
  • Follow Project Quality Control Procedures
  • Utilizes checklist to prepare plans, maps and exhibits
  • Utilizing your expertise for Grading Design, Utilities Design and Roadway Design tasks
  • Traffic Control, Signage and Striping Design
  • Water Network Analysis
  • Technical Drainage (Hydrology) Study
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs of public and private improvements (infrastructure)
  • Training on standards, codes, and requirements. Training also includes understanding the working knowledge behind those requirements.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with AutoCAD-Civil 3-D software
  • Civil design experience for land development and/or subdivision projects
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Land Development related design work with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related degree OR at least 5 years of experience in Land Development without a bachelor’s degree

  • College graduate engineer

  • Experience with Grading Design, Utilities Design and Roadway Design
  • Team Player with excellent communication skills
  • Having an eye for detail with cost, time, and budget parameters
  • Understanding priorities with schedules and staying on task
