The Hwy 83 Grade Raise was a relatively low ½ mile section of roadway south of Minot that was getting overtaken by high waters at various times of the year. This project raised the elevation of the NB lanes by 5 feet along utilizing borrow embankment, Class 5 and asphalt with rip rap erosion protection along the water bank. This project also installed a 60 inch water elevation stabilizing culvert to balance the water level on each side of the raised roadway.
